ConocoPhillips Alaska, Inc. is pleased to announce its 2008 scholarship program. The ConocoPhillips Alaska scholarship program is open to Alaska high school seniors planning to attend an institution of higher learning, academic or trade school. Sons and daughters of ConocoPhillips Alaska employees are not eligible, but all other high school seniors in Alaska may apply.
Linked is the scholarship application to be completed by each student applicant. ConocoPhillips Alaska will award twenty scholarships during the spring of 2008. There will be seven $5,000 in-state scholarships and thirteen $3,000 general scholarships. Applications must be postmarked by Tuesday, January 15, 2008.
As outlined on the application, a panel of judges will select the winners based on each student's future potential to contribute their knowledge and talents in Alaska. In addition, each student's service to their community, service to their school, school achievements, and financial need will be taken into consideration.
Along with the application form, students are asked to include in their scholarship package a letter of application, a college budget for their first year, an official high school transcript and letters of recommendation - click here for the application checklist.
